One step at a time.

We headed down to Sheung Wan today, wanting to explore the side streets that sell quirky things that don't come from your usual department stores. We hiked up from the Sheung Wan MTR stop and boy, was it a long hike! Perhaps it was because the weather was humid and sunny, every step felt heavier than the last. We stood staring at these flight of stairs for a long time, our legs having to have started to ache by now. How old are we? How come a little exercise has made us lose our breath? We think we are quite fit: walking to and from work everyday. Yet we can't master these few flights of stairs? How weak of us. Imagine ten, twenty, or thirty years on; even if we wanted to walk up it, we probably wouldn't be physically fit enough. So must try and conquer things while we are young, even if it is something as simple as a flight of stairs. Doesn't matter if you take one step and rest a little, so long as you don't stop. It takes a lot of energy, determination and persistence to keep going. Do not underestimate the steps you have to take till you reach the top.
